Painting, Staining & Engraving

	This is a piece which combines stained glass, painting and engraving. Approximately 25cm by 25cm, it is an irregularly rectangular sheet of light green Hartley Wood glass. It is painted and silver-stained with an iris motif, and finally leaded.

The engraving is a piece of text from a French garden, accompanied by a free English translation:

  "Even the smallest effort in turning the soil
  Brings the human heart into harmony with nature,
  And so brings about, little by little,
  Everlasting patience coupled with a knowing serenity"

I am interested in combining text with illustration and in harmonising the two forms
