Curriculum Vitae
I trained in Fine Art at Goldsmiths' College, graduating in 1969. In 1977, I took up glass engraving, which has engaged me since that time. In 1998 I received the Diploma in Advanced Stained Glass at Central St Martin's College of Art & Design.
I am also a botanical painter, being elected a member of the Society of Botanical Artists in 1983.
My interest in engraving lettering onto glass led me to Roehampton Institute where I graduated with a Diploma in Calligraphy & Bookbinding in 1995.
I have exhibited my glass and panels in a wide variety of contexts. I am interested in integrating etching, painting and drawing into my work with glass, by working simultaneously on all artistic frontiers. My work is generally through commission, a modus operandi which I enjoy because of the challenge involved in fusing the client's needs with the wider aesthetic imperative.
I am currently engaged on a series of major projects involving outdoor architectural glass work, integrating fused glass sculptures with welded metal structures; at the same time, I continue to develop still further my smaller-scale studio-oriented engraved glass work.
