This is a group of related sculptural vessels, each of them
hand-blown by Bob Crooks to my exact specification in either clear crystal glass, or multi-layered
cased glass. The bottles are then engraved with themes from family life, illustrating conflicts,
resolutions and situations by means of elliptic phrases and abstract designs
Be Kind
Message in a Bottle

This vessel is rectangular, about 13cm x 10cm x 5cm in three colour layers of glass: clear, purple and opaque black. I have engraved scenes and phrases from family life, using engraving to cut into the coloured layers.
A vessel blown to my specification using three layers of cased glass- blue, turquoise and black. The engraving is deep and reveals the colours in the layers. A personalised message is written on a strip of vellum and placed in the bottle
A cased glass bottle in green, black and blue, with a broken-off fragment, and a stopper, signifying disunity. The vessel bears the quote "We had the experience, but missed the meaning"
A vessel in cased orange and red glass, engraved with pomegranates and grapes and bearing a quotation from the Song of Songs, which is Solomon's.
Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.
An expression of youth and love.
A clear crystal bottle, hand-blown by Bob Crooks, bearing the inscription 'The Desire and Pursuit of the Whole is called Love' in English on the base and in Greek on the stopper
